Let me tell you...

From the first day I started out in this business 18 years ago, one of the first things I noticed was how well Porter treated his employees.  And I think it’s indicative of how we treat our customers, as well.

Most of the businesses where I worked... the person running the business tried to pay everybody as little as possible and spend as little as possible on everything.

I can remember meetings we had in far-away places, like Switzerland. Porter would fly in experts – people like Jim Rogers – from halfway across the world – first class.

And I remember thinking, “This is crazy.” Because it cost us a fortune to do this type of thing. But as Porter’s always said, treating people well pays for itself – and then some. It’s a simple thing – but most people in the financial research world still don’t get this. They don’t do business this way. Even our competitors, they’re always looking for the cheapest way to do just about everything.

I’m glad they do, too, because I know it gives us – and our readers – a huge advantage.

If I had to boil it all down to a simple line... the guiding principle of our business is... we try to treat our readers the way we’d like to be treated, if our roles were reversed. Without a doubt, it’s the most important thing I’ve learned from Porter and the growth of Stansberry Research.

I know that sounds like a “tag line,” but whenever someone in my family asks me what to do with their money, I just tell them: read our work. Read Porter’s letter. Read Dan Ferris’s letter. Read Steve’s letter. Read Doc’s letter. That’s what I do and that’s what I tell my family and friends to do.
